16 Fellowships opportunities for post-grad students

1. ERCIM – Alain Bensoussan Fellowships 

ERCIM, the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics, offers fellowships for PhD holders from all over the world. Fellowships are of a 12 month duration, spent in one of the leading European Research Institutes which makes up part of the ERCIM network. Topics cover most disciplines in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Applied Mathematics.
*Deadline: 30 April 2017

2. EU – EMBO Long-Term Fellowships 

The European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) Long-Term Fellowships are awarded for a period of up to two years and support postdoctoral research visits to laboratories throughout Europe and the world. International exchange is a key feature in the application process. All fellowships must involve movement between countries. The receiving institute or the applicant's nationality must be from one of the EMBO Member States. The stipend is a subsistence allowance and is intended to cover the cost of living in the host country.
Applicants must hold a doctorate degree or equivalent at the start of the fellowship and have obtained it no more than two years before the application deadline.
*Deadline: now accepted throughout the year.

3. European cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) call for proposals

Participants are invited to submit proposals for COST Actions contributing to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal knowledge advancement and development of Europe. Multi- and interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged. COST Actions are bottom-up science and technology networks, open to researchers and stakeholders with a duration of four years. They are active through a range of networking tools, such as workshops, conferences, training schools, short-term scientific missions (STSMs), and dissemination activities. COST does not fund research itself. COST Actions allow European researchers to jointly develop their own ideas in any science and technology field, including Humanities and Social Sciences. Participation in COST actions is open to International Partner Countries, among which is Brazil, on the basis of ascertained mutual benefit.
*Deadline: 7 September 2017

4. European University institute (EUI) - Fernand Braudel Incoming Senior Fellowships

Fellowships last for up to ten months in one of the EUI's four Departments which in turn invite fellows to participate in departmental activities (seminars, workshops, colloquia, etc.). Fellows are encouraged to make contact with researchers sharing their academic interests, may be involved in the teaching and thesis supervision tasks of EUI professors, and associated with one of the research projects being carried out at the EUI. Find many other calls funded by the European Commission, Member states and associated countries and Brazil in the still open section below. COST is an intergovernmental framework for European Cooperation in Science and Technology, supporting the coordination of nationally-funded research. It aims at reducing the fragmentation in European research investments and opening the European Research Area (ERA) to cooperation worldwide. It anticipates and complements the activities of the EU Framework Programmes.
*Deadline : There are two annual deadlines for applications - 30 March and/or 30 September
*The Departments of law only accept applications in March, while the department of History and Civilization considers applications for the 30 September deadline.

5. DENMARK - Call for Development research collaboration grants in growth and transition countries (Incoming).

Supports strategic research cooperation projects between a research institution or a university in Denmark and a partner country (Brazil and Colombia included). which will generate new knowledge relevant to the needs and strategies of the growth and transition countries and contribute to strengthening research capacity in developing countries. Two calls are available to Brazilians and Colombians: - Window 2 Call for research with partners in growth and transition countries The applicants must fill in the electronic application form.
*Deadline: 3 March 2017. - Mobility Grants – Call for applications for individual mobility grants for researchers from growth and transition countries (involved in the programme “Partnering with Denmark”).
*The applicants (Danish host institutions) must fill in the electronic application form until 17 March 2017.

6. FRANCE - Post-doctoral research visits at Inria

All year long, the French Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation (INRIA) organises post-doctoral research visits for individuals of all nationalities holding a PhD. Particular attention will be paid to French and international candidates who have studied their PhD abroad.
*Rolling basis: Currently 6 positions open with varying deadlines depending on the project: 1 February 2017 until 31 August 2017

7. FRANCE – AgreenSkills+ incoming/outgoing postdoctoral fellowships

AgreenSkills+ sets out to encourage the international mobility of young researchers, from 12 to 36 months for fellows coming to France and from 6 to 24 months for outgoing fellows, by supporting research projects in the fields of agriculture, food, nutrition, environment, animal health and veterinary public health. Agreenskills offers very attractive mobility allowances and personalized support for career development plans.
The programmes are aimed at talented researchers from all over the world holding a PhD with less than 10 years of postdoctoral research experience. The programmes concern all the research laboratories of Agreenium members. They are implemented through a continuous call for submission with two selection rounds per year.
*Deadlines: 28 April & 13 October 2017

8. FRANCE-GERMANY - Doctoral Fellowship at the Max Planck-Sciences Po Center

The Max Planck Sciences Po Center on Coping with Instability in Market Societies invites applications for a doctoral fellowship to be undertaken in Paris, France, under the supervision of Prof. Jenny Andersson or Prof. Olivier Godechot.
International students with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) who have received training in the following disciplines: history, sociology, or political science, with additional training in related fields such as economics, management, philosophy, or antropology. No nationality requirement. A firm command of English and working knowledge of French or German are required.
*Deadline: 15 March 2017

9. GERMANY - Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (P.R.I.M.E.)

Postdoctoral researchers of all nationalities, who see their long-term career perspectives in Germany, will be given the opportunity to combine employment at a German university with a research stay abroad. Funding is provided through an 18-month temporary job position at the selected German University, in which 12 months have to be spent abroad and 6 months (re-integration phase) at a German university. The re-integration phase is mandatory. The German university administrates the salary during the whole funding period Applications may be submitted before completion of the PhD. However, the PhD must be completed before the start of the funding period.
*Deadline: 15 May 2017

10. GERMANY - Viadrina International Programme for Graduates (VIP) (Incoming and outgoing)

The VIP offers PhD Students of the European University Viadrina and also international PhD Students, until October 2017, the opportunity of developing an international research and career profile. PhD Students of the Viadrina are offered following funding lines: - Research stays abroad (max. 3 months) - Grants for editing and publishing foreign-language articles and monographs - Grants for holding international conferences for early-stage researchers at the European University Viadrina International PhD Students of foreign universities are offered following funding lines: - Acquaintance stays at the Viadrina (1 month) - Resarch stays at the Viadrina (max. 3 months)

Research Fellowship Programme DLR-DAAD Research Fellowships’ is a new programme implemented by the ‘Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt’ (DLR) and the ‘German Academic Exchange Service’ (DAAD). Who can apply? This special programme is intended for highly-qualified foreign doctoral and postdoctoral students as well as senior scientists. DLR-DAAD Fellowships are defined and awarded on an individual basis. Each fellowship announcement will indicate the specific qualification requirements and terms of visit. 12. GERMANY - Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellowships (Incoming)

Leibniz-DAAD fellowships offer highly-qualified, international postdoctoral researchers, who have recently completed their doctoral studies, the opportunity to conduct research at the Leibniz institute of their choice in Germany. Leibniz-DAAD research fellows can undertake their research at the 91 Leibniz institutes listed in the following links: - Humanities and Educational Research - Economics, Social Sciences and Spatial Research - Life Sciences - Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Engineering - Environmental Sciences ELIGIBILITY: Recent international postdocs who have completed their studies with a PhD or equivalent qualification no more than two years ago. Applicants must neither hold German nationality nor have resided in Germany for the last 6 months before the application deadline.

13. ISRAEL - Dan David Prize and Scholarships

The Dan David Prize awards scholarships to doctoral and postdoctoral researchers doing research in selected fields. For the year 2017, the selected fields are: archaeology and natural sciences; literature; astronomy. The Dan David Prize laureates annually donate twenty scholarships of USD 15,000 (EUR 12,000) each to outstanding doctoral and postdoctoral students (ten scholarships to students at universities throughout the world and ten scholarships at Tel Aviv University). The Dan David Prize and scholarships are granted solely according to merit. 
*Deadline: 10 March 2017   

14. POLAND – HOMING incoming postdoctoral fellowships for Young Researchers

This fellowship targets young post-docs from all over the world (regardless of nationality), with a special focus on the return to Poland of outstanding scientists of Polish descent, at research units or companies in Poland.
RESEARCH FIELDS: subject related to the most innovative areas or that show significant application potential or importance for solving a major socioeconomic problem.
FUNDING ORGANISATION: Foundation for Polish science. Co-financed by the European Union's Regional Development Fund (Smart Growth Operational Programme (PO IR).
WHAT IS FUNDED: The project budget is recommended not to exceed PLN 800 000 (aprox 185 000 euros).
DURATION: up to 24 months.
ELIGIBILITY: young doctors (regardless of nationality) who have had a doctoral degree for not longer than 5 years, Participation of at least one scientific partner from Poland or another country is mandatory.

15. SPAIN – Fundación Carolina incoming fellowships for Ibero-American students

Various fellowships open to Ibero-American students to carry out part of their post-graduation, PhD and post-doc studies in Spain in various research areas. The programme also funds researchers and Brazilian lecturers’ mobility (27 fellowships available) in partnership with the Junta de Andalucía, the Universidad de Cádiz, Universidad de Málaga, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Universidad de Sevilla. - Postgraduate Studies Fellowships - PHD and short term stays - Mobility Brazil – Spain for lecturers and researchers - Entrepreneurship and videogames.
*Deadlines: 6 April 2017 for Brazilian lecturers and researchers, Postgraduate Studies, Empredimiento y videojuegos, PhD and short term stays.

16. UK - WHRI-Academy call for proposals in Healthcare and Life Sciences

The EU-funded William Harvey International Translational Research Academy (WHRI-ACADEMY) is a mobility fellowship programme which aims to provide researchers with multidisciplinary projects help to maximize their career development opportunities in healthcare and life sciences. The scheme offers three different mobility schemes (Incoming, Outgoing and Reintegration) for at least 12 months and a maximum of 15 months. 
Applicants from all over the world must be in possession of a PhD degree, or have at least 4 years of full-time research experience. At the time of the deadline for submission of proposals, they must not have resided or carried out her/his main activity in the host country for more than 12 months in the last 3 years prior to the deadline for submission of proposals.
*Deadline for submission: 3 April 2017.

O Programa de Bolsas do Grupo Coimbra de Universidades Brasileiras para Jovens Professores e Pesquisadores da América Latina oferece financiamento para visitas de curta duração em todas as áreas, com vistas a favorecer a mobilidade acadêmica entre Europa e América Latina.

A Comissão de Seleção da Agência Espacial Brasileira divulga três (03) vagas para bolsas de mestrado do Programa Masta (Master Program on Technology Applications) a ser realizado a partir de setembro/2017 na Universidade de Beihang, Pequim, China.

As bolsas serão patrocinadas pelo Centro Regional para Ciência Espacial e Educação Tecnológica na Ásia e no Pacífico - RCSSTEAP ( O RCSSTEAP é o sexto centro mundial de educação espacial estabelecido em cooperação com o Escritório das Nações Unidas para Assuntos do Espaço Exterior (UNOOSA). Programa INCIPIT de Doutorado abre 20 vagas para brasileiros

INCIPIT is a novel international PhD programme, which aims at providing innovative multidisciplinary and intersectoral training in Life and Biomaterial Sciences. It is co-funded by the COFUND scheme (Marie Skłodowska - Curie Actions).

This programme pools the different and complementary expertise of 8 research institutes of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), as well as the competencies of 3 Doctoral Schools and several academic, non-profit and industrial Partner Organisations.

20 positions are open to Brazilians in this 2017 call. There is no nationality restriction, but the candidates must satisfy the usual mobility eligibility rules and posess a Master degree in a relevant field.

The INCIPT PhD programme includes:
- laboratory activities to carry out doctoral research projects;
- theoretical courses run by the Doctoral Schools of the Università degli Studi della Campania 'Luigi Vanvitelli', the University of Naples Federico II and the University of Catania (UNICT);
- activities related to transferable skills.

Oferta de bolsas na Hungria - Programa Stipedium Hungaricum

Programa de estudos "Stipedium Hungaricum" na Hungria, por meio do qual estão sendo ofertadas 250 (duzentas e cinquenta) bolsas de estudo para brasileiros: 100 (cem) bolsas de estudo de Graduação em regime pleno ou parcial (BA/BSC), 120 (cento e vinte) de Mestrado 9MA/MSC, com prioridade para as áreas de Agricultura, Engenharia, Ciências Naturais e Esportivas, Artes e Relações Internacionais no Serviço Público e 30 bolsas para Doutorado (PHD) em qualquer área de interesse.

As despesas do estudante brasileiro serão custeadas pela instituição de ensino receptora que oferece ensino gratuito, bolsa de estudos e direito a serviços de saúde, conforme a legislação da República da Hungria. Os custos da viagem internacional (passagens aéreas - ida e volta; seguros de viagem; vistos, etc) deverão ser pagos pelo candidato.

Essas bolsas ofertadas pelo governo húngaro não se inserem no âmbito de outros programas do MEC, portanto não deverão gerar qualquer expectativa de revalidação automática de diplomas.

Curso de especialização em gestão e avaliação de propriedade intelectual em Roma

O Escritório Italiano de Marcas e Patentes (UIBM) e a Academia da Organização Mundial de Propriedade Intelectual (OMPI) promoverão curso de especialização em gestão e avaliação de propriedade intelectual, em Roma, de 2 de maio a 22 de julho de 2017. O curso será ministrado em inglês pela Universidade Guido Carli (LUISS).

O Governo italiano está oferecendo 15 bolsas de estudo integrais para participantes do programa oriundos dos seguintes países: Argélia, Argentina, Brasil, China, Egito, Índia, Indonésia, Irã, México, Marrocos, Arábia Saudita, África do Sul, Tailândia e Tunísia.

Os candidatos devem possuir diploma de graduação em economia, direito, engenharia, ou disciplina semelhante e têm até 17 de março para completar sua inscrição.

Scholarship Programme for Young Professors and Researchers from Latin American Universities

The online application for the Coimbra Group Scholarship Programme for Young Professors and Researchers from Latin American Universitiesis is available until 31 March 2017 on the Coimbra Group web site: Applications should be submitted in English.

This initiative, which offers grants to finance short-term research visits, aims at favouring mobility and academic exchange between Europe and Latin America and was launched for the first time on January 2004.

The following universities are participating in the 2017/2018 edition of the scholarship programme:

-To hold a university degree or equivalent. 
-To be linked as a professor or researcher to a Latin American University recognized as such by the authorities of the country. 
-To use the Coimbra Group Office electronic application process. Only one application per candidate will be accepted. 
-To submit online an Acceptance Letter/email from the tutor/partner with whom the work programme will be undertaken in the host institution. This document is mandatory
-Candidates should be under 40 years of age when submitting the application. 
-Previously selected candidates can apply for a second grant but they will not be prioritized

The administrative check of applications will be undertaken by the Coimbra Group Office in order to select candidates who meet the eligibility criteria. The selection of candidates will be undertaken by the host universities. The Coimbra Group Office will contact all candidates and inform them about the result of their application by the end of May 2017.

Programa de apadrinhamento para acolhimento de estudantes estrangeiros

Viajar para estudar em um país diferente é uma escolha emocionante e desafiadora, mas que podem causar tensão, medo e muito estresse desnecessário. Contar com alguém que possa ajudar o estudante que toma tal decisão, nesse período inicial de sua vida no exterior, é de fundamental importância. 

Por esta razão, a Diretoria de Mobilidade Acadêmica Internacional (MAI) deseja convidar pessoas interessadas em ajudar estudantes internacionais, tanto em questões relacionadas à UFPA, quanto aos aspectos gerais sobre a vida prática e diária em Belém, tornando-se host(ess)

Podem candidatar-se para receber alunos estrangeiros:
- Estudantes de graduação ou de pós-graduação; 
- Servidores técnicos e docentes vinculados à Universidade Federal do Pará.
